When I open the blinds in the morning he jumps up to the perch where he gets his day warmth and at night jumps where the heat plate is. So easy to install as well. My parakeet was skeptical at first for about a week, or so, than loved it! Sat next to it all the time.
The heater kept the parakeet comfortable during the cold winter months. Very nice!!!

I cover him at night with towels and have put the heater beside his perch where he cuddles up to it and looks very much more comfortable. There is a little background heating but in our old stone cottage it gets cold at night and he looked very fluffed up when I uncovered him each morning. Now he looks unfluffed and relaxed and happy. In fact I am ordering a second of these heaters for my other bird since I am so happy with it!!

My baby Crumb the budgie loves this heater! Stays on all winter and helps at night then the blanket goes on to keep a little extra warmth in. I cut and taped a medicine measuring cup to wrap around the cord behind it to protect the cord from being chewed when Crumb is a free bird during the day.

I used this heater when my parrot was sick. This worked very well – it doesn’t get hot but does get nicely warm and my parrot would be right next to it in order to stay warmer during her illness. It was easy to install and I felt comfortable leaving it plugged in for extended periods of time. I highly recommend this warmer.
